MHS11 The Doha metro is one of the largest and prominent projects in Qatar currently under construction. Phase one of the project, due to be operational in 2020, comprises of 3 of the four lines (Red, Green and Gold) with 37 stations. Trelawny’s exclusive distributor in Qatar, Gulf Incon, has seen record sales this year as a result of major projects such as the metro and extensive road and infrastructure developments.
When a requirement came to remove laitance and prepare the surface for screeding at the Hamad hospital station, on the Green Line, Gulf Incon immediately knew the right machine for the job.
“Trelawny’s excellent MHS11 has been a key product in our range for many years” says Tools and Equipment Division Manager, Mr Sajjad Khan. The client, a JV led by Austrian contractor Porr along with Saudi Binladen Group and the local Qatari contractor HBK, required all of the platforms to be “scabbled” to remove the top layer and provide a key for the screed layer to be applied.
“The MHS11 is a perfect choice due to its high productivity, low maintenance, economical consumables and easy operation” added Khan. In addition the contractor specified that no dust should be produced in order to protect the workers’ health, aid clean up and stop contamination to the rest of the site.
The MHS11 can be fitted with a dust shroud which when connected to a high performance industrial dust collector such as Trelawny’s A45 provides virtually dust free operation.
