Painted line removal with Trelawny TFP200 Floor Scarifer
March 07, 2016
Trelawny recently supplied their TFP200 Floor Planer to a contracting company who had been tasked with removing old and deteriorating painted lines from some of London’s bus stops and stations prior to applying fresh coats to refurbish the lines. Their remit was for a machine that could remove the existing 100mm wide lines but without creating unwanted damage to the concrete either side of the them whilst also leaving a key on the surface for the new coat to bond to.
Trelawny were able to supply their TFP200 machine fitted with Tungsten Carbide Tipped Cutters but with the cutters assembled in the drum so that they only ran a 100mm wide cut, the rest of the drum was then filled with spacing washers. This allowed the operators to remove the existing line and key the surface ready for the next coat without damaging any of the concrete either side of it.
